The Renault Clio is a popular hatchback car manufactured by Renault that was launched in 1990. The Clio was widely seen as having saved the ailing Renault manufacturer, which was struggling with increasing competition from other small car manufacturers, especially from Japan and Germany.   These offered more reliable cars, better quality cars, cars with more features and at a cheaper price, due to investment in design, manufacturing processes and quality control.
